About Regents Park Singers Choir

A local choir where people can arrive feeling nervous and leave knowing they belong.

We began with one simple idea: singing should feel open, kind, and pressure-free for everyone, not just seasoned performers.

Each week, Regents Park Singers Choir brings neighbours together to share songs, laughter, and encouragement. No auditions, no judgement — just a welcoming room where confidence and friendship can grow at a comfortable pace.

Our Story

Born from a local idea, shaped by local voices.

Regents Park Singers Choir began with a simple invitation: come as you are, sing without pressure and leave feeling more connected than when you arrived, including people encouraged to try a welcoming group through social prescribing.

Where we started

A few neighbours, a borrowed room and a kettle after rehearsal — that was the first Regents Park Singers Choir evening. No auditions, no solos and no pressure to “get it right” — just people singing together.

As word spread, more people came: complete beginners, returning singers, people new to town, and people rebuilding confidence. We have also welcomed people encouraged to join by social prescribers, and many have told us that the regular routine, shared singing and new friendships helped them feel more connected and more confident over time.
